Preston & Thai Food highest rated by Onionring Users!

PRESTON RATED THE NO.1 DINING OUT TOWN IN THE NORTH-WEST!

Onionring.co.uk – the popular North-West dining and venues guide now has over 10,000 restaurant reviews and recommendations featured on the website.

With every recommendation or review that comes in the user submits a score out of 10 and this is where it gets interesting! We can see that… (detailed league tables below)

- Restaurant Diners rated Lancashire as the best place to eat out in the North-West, second in the scoring was Liverpool & the Wirral, closely followed by North Wales. Congratulations to Lancashire!...but this brings up more questions – are Lancastrians more generous with their marks? Or are they more easily pleased?!

- And the best town or village to dine out in according to Onionring users? Well you would probably expect a leafy suburb such as Alderley Edge or Knutsford, well not according to Onionring diners! Who rated Preston as the best place for a good meal, a close 2nd was Stockport and another slightly surprising third place went to Crewe. (Each town rated had to have at least 50 reviews)

- Turning our attention to the highest rated cuisine types in the North West, Thai restaurants come out on top. Well done to all you Thai restaurateurs! In a close second was the ever popular Indian Restaurants, with Chinese taking up third place.

Nick Maycock of Onionring says ‘There were a few surprise results when we looked at all the reviews that had come in over the last 4 years, the likes of Crewe, Stockport and Preston perhaps aren’t synonymous with great dining out but it certainly looks like things are changing! Of the different cuisine types, Thai food has become very popular over the last few years but I don’t think we expected it to be rated higher than the more traditional restaurant cuisines like Indian and Chinese…and ‘British’ was even further down the list!’
