Manchester's first Gastro Club
Katie Brunt tells us about Manchester's first Gastro Club...
'Gastroclub Manchester started almost by accident, with one innocent tweet about wanting to start up a GastroClub after not really believing there wasn't a group already like this. Within minutes of Tweeting I had a flood of responses and three weeks later we are now 90 Manchester based foodie members strong. The group has no official website, the only way to find out more about joining is to follow @GastroClub_Mcr on Twitter.'
'GastroClub meets up once a month (second Tuesday) at different restaurants around Manchester. I work with the venue to arrange alternative and unusual menus for the night.'
The first event at the Mark Addy saw 40 members get together for a 5 course meal which included a 13 bird spit roast brought out on a stretcher (and a bit of artistic licence - Bombay duck was in there somewhere!) and a little squirrel parcel for starter.
