A unique taste of Spain comes to Macclesfield this February

A new neighbourhood wine bar offering a unique taste of Spain is set to open in Macclesfield on Tuesday 19th February.

Tempranillo reflects the soul of Spain, inspired by the new wave of deli-wine bars and, more importantly, the bars and eateries of Madrid. Located in the historic cobbled streets of Backwallgate, the cozy Macclesfield newcomer showcases a relaxed ambience in both appearance and attitude, with subdued lighting and natural finishings celebrating the original features of the building itself. Tempranillo will serve a carefully selected range of wines from some of the country's most exciting producers, alongside authentic Spanish charcuteria and artisan cheese. There will also be a range of Spanish sherry, beer and cider on offer.

Owner, Manchester entrepreneur, Chris Lynch said: “I’ve always been besotted with Spain and its culture, particularly where food and drink are concerned. Inspired by many trips to Madrid, I wanted to create a bar that echoed the laid back way of life, where eating and drinking moves away from something functional and becomes one of life’s great pleasures to be enjoyed for hours on end”.

Tempranillo offers a unique wine list comprising a selection of hand picked Spanish reds and whites, alongside rose and sparkling wines - each available by the glass or bottle. Customers will also be able to enjoy 'wine flights' where three small glasses of wine are served simultaneously, offering the chance to taste the country's diverse range of wines side by side. The bar will also showcase a selection of Spanish sherry, beers and cider. The food offering is just as important with a range of boards available for customers to graze on which will include authentic Spanish meats and artisan cheeses, alongside a range of Spanish snacks.
