Oddfellows scoops ‘Cheshire newcomer of the year award'
Since its opening in April, Oddfellows has certainly made its impression on Chester’s vibrant nightlife scene and this was formally recognized when ‘Life Magazines’, publishers of leading county magazines such as Cheshire Life and Lancashire Life, dished out its prestigious ‘Food and Wine Awards’ this month.
Oddfellows won the ‘Cheshire Newcomer of the Year’ Award, beating other fine newcomers in the North West region such as ‘The House Restaurant’ in Altrincham and ‘Swadesh Restaurant’ in Bowden.
At Oddfellows, guests can delight in this unique and fantastically designed seventeenth century mansion on Lower Bridge Street, with its offering of treats which include cocktails in the lively bar, delicious modern British cuisine in the restaurant, mouthwatering Brasserie food, tempting afternoon teas and sundowners in Bedouin-style tents in the rooftop garden. It has certainly offered the city of Chester something quite unique.
Oddfellows offers a select VIP membership but its ‘open’ policy means that non-members are equally at home. There are also four luxurious suites for guests to stay over.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Life commented "They've pulled off a remarkable transformation of one of Chester's landmark buildings into an uber-stylish bar and brasserie with a grand restaurant on the upper floor offering top-notch grown up dining."
The Oddfellows team will celebrate along with 300 guests at a glittering Awards ceremony, celebrating the very best of North West Hospitality, at the City of Manchester Stadium on 14th October.
Gourmet stay at Oddfellows, including five course taster menu, overnight accommodation and breakfast is £250 per couple. (Tuesday - Saturday)
