The Smoker Inn celebrates it's 400th anniversary
The Smoker Inn celebrates it's 400th anniversary this year...1611 to 2011, we have had a celebration draught beer called " Smoker 1611" made specially for us by Robinsons Brewery, Stockport which is on sale at the pub now, we have also put on anniversary menus with emphasis on well cooked and presented, value for money food which competes very well with all the offer pubs locally. This is a change of emphasis at The Smoker which recognizes that times have changed significantly and that pubs are about relaxed hospitality and good value.
We are having a full weekend of celebration on Saturday 15th October and Sunday 16th October when we are holding a Mini beer festival and Food and Drink Fayre.from 12 noon until 6.00p.m. each day. There will be 10 cask conditioned beers to try including Elbow "let's build a rocket boys" which is being launched at the Manchester Food and Drink Fayre on Thursday 13th October so The Smoker on 15th will probably be the first chance to try it locally. There will also be an array of Food Stalls from local and other producers. Television Chef Simon Rimmer is coming between 1.00 and 2.00pm on Saturday and the Shire horses and dray from Robinsons are coming on Sunday. Food to drink with beer will be available all day.
All proceeds from the festival are going to the local Multiple Sclerosis Society but we will also be holding a prize draw for the M.S. Society where the first prize will be chef Chris Whittleworth will come and cook a meal for 6 in your own home and we will donate the wine to go with it. There will be many other prizes.
