Manchester’s foodies look to the West Country as “Rhubarb” serves up a taste of Cornwall

One of Manchester’s most exciting restaurants is offering its customers a taste of Cornish spring time with the added chance to win a luxury beachside holiday in the county.

Rhubarb is teaming up with Ocean Blue to offer diners a mouth-watering array of Cornish foods in a special food promotion week beginning on February 23rd.

Ocean Blue is a brand new contemporary designed development of beachside apartments and cottages at Treyarnon Bay near Rock in Cornwall.

Rhubarb was established in 2002 by husband and wife, Mark and Lisa Ramsden, who have created a contemporary and eclectic menu that defines their independent restaurant.

Lisa Ramsden said: “We are delighted to be linking up with Ocean Blue. The resort is located in a beautiful part of the world and we are sure our customers will love the chance to taste some of the finest fish and other produce that Cornwall has to offer, not to mention having the opportunity to win a fantastic luxury holiday that won’t leave you tearing your hair out at the current exchange rates.”

Opened within the last few months, Ocean Blue is offering a range of specially created packages alongside its traditional beachside holidays. Among those on offer are golfing, adventure, gardening and pampering breaks as well as others designed to inject a touch of romance back into life.

As Ocean Blue’s Marketing Manager Suzanne Skerry said: “Ocean Blue is a special place and we are happy to go the extra mile to ensure that our guests get exactly what they want out of their holiday. That might be as simple as arranging a hamper of food from the local farm, or they might want to go the whole hog with an adventure weekend that sees them jumping off cliffs and learning to surf. Whatever they want, Ocean Blue will make it happen."

Beauty treatments, a personal chef and local gourmet ready-meals can all be ordered direct to your own front door while trips further afield can include everything from garden visits to shark fishing, hot air ballooning, kite surfing and paragliding.

Suzanne Skerry added: “After all that, we know that our guests will be delighted by the chic comfort of the accommodation. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with stunning sea views, we are enormously proud to say that Ocean Blue marks the start of a new era in Cornish self-catering accommodation. From the gleam of the hi-tech kitchens to the welcoming warmth of the carefully chosen furnishings, everything has been arranged with quality precision. We have achieved this with a great team of experts, who have worked for two years to provide an idyll, where people can just relax, unwind, and enjoy their time and the excitements or relaxation of their choice.”

For a week from February 23rd all customers of Rhubarb will receive a special competition entry card giving them the chance to win a luxury break of their own at Ocean Blue. The winner will be drawn in March and will then be able to start planning their Cornish escape.
