Fire at newly opened Panacea in Alderley Edge

Firefighters called to bar blaze
About 30 firefighters are dealing with a blaze at a recently opened bar and restaurant in Cheshire.

Panacea, which was formerley Brasingamens on Wilmslow Road, Alderley Edge, opened last Friday after an extensive refurbishment.

The fire broke out at about 0600 BST but Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said is was not yet clear how it began.

Wilmslow Road is closed between Monksheath traffic lights and Rileys Lane while crews deal with the blaze.

The closures are causing traffic problems and motorists are being advised to avoid the area and to expect delays.
