We had arranged to meet some friends on Saturday 25th August. We live in Telford and our friends live in Marple, so we wanted somewhere roughly half way. We found Lock 57 on the internet, it looked just right a we are all interested in canals. so we decided we'd go. We're so pleased we did, the restaurant although small was excellent and overlooked the canal. The atmosphere was good, food exceptional and the service second to none. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, especially Sam who was extremely friendly. We will definitely go again.

8 of us dined here again, and this restaurant just keeps getting better. The service is excellent, the menu is imaginative, and there isn't better value in Cheshire. This is cheaper than some pubs in the nearby vicinity that seem to think they are restaurants and charge exorbitant prices for mediocre food and wine. The food at Lock 57 is in a different class altogether. Excellent all round.

Fantastic evening which I would recommend to anybody. After ordering our starters and mains we were suprised to be given a small appetiser (Olive Tapenade) which was delicious. I had the Crab to start, followed by the Lamb Shank and finished off with Sticky Toffee Pudding and I have to say this is the of the best meals I have had, definitely the best meal I have had from around Cheshire. When asking for the bill we were also then given flapjacks and brownies which is another lovely added touch, what was more the meal was great valur for money as well. I felt each course came at the right time (not too long not too short), the atmosphere was lovely and the service felt very personal especially with the chef coming out asking opinions and even checking we were ok for drinks. Top meal & service, will be back on a regular basis.
