The lunch menu offered 2 courses for £15.39 or 3 for £19.50. We certainly felt like we could turn this lunch into a long lazy lunch. We got comfy. A bottle of the light, crisp and refreshing Austrialian Pinot Grigio was opened as continued to browse the menu. First time at 1539 and had an excellent night. Great food, really good service and price wise not too expensive. Could do to make the portions slightly larger but had a really good experience here. Will definitely be going back again

Have eaten at 1539 frequently and at different times/ occasions and the standard of food & wine is uniformly high, at good prices. Most ingredients are locally sourced, and the kitchen does good things with them! The wine list runs from £16-cost of a car, but the lower/ mid section is wide and well researched, providing good value. (Phil knows his wines!) Lovely view over racecourse towards Welsh hills, and comfy chairs. V good for all the family esp. at Sunday Lunch.
