The Foxcote is boarded up & has 'For Sale' signs displayed outside. What has happened to it?

The Foxcote Inn had a stall at the Wirral Food and Drink festival. On the day they were selling seafood dishes hot and cold of a high standard. On the basis of a favourable bowl of mussels from them myself and other half decided to take a trip out to their restaurant. As locations go its very rural, in fact so rural that I managed to take a wrong turn and had to phone them for help. After receiving directions we arrived at The Foxcote. From the outside it looks very much like a typical pub, inside though the restaurant was packed with customers and comfortably arranged. The menu was a seafood lovers idea of heaven and has several meat options as well. Being a committed seafood aholic I neglected to check for veggie options although the soup of the day was a homemade vegetable soup. The food was stunning, simply stunning. As we'd driven so far to get there we decided to treat ourselves. I went for fresh oysters on ice served with lemon, tabasco and shallot vinegar sides to start and my beloved chose mussels in the form of moules marinieres from the ever changing blackboard of specials.Her portion of mussels was so large that we had to call the waiter to check they had not bought us a sharing main course. My lobster in garlic butter was fresh and lovely and my OH's haddock florentine was also an enormous portion. Wine and desserts were similarly good value. The only slight fault with the whole night was that we had to ask 3 times for water (I was driving) but seeing as they were so busy and the food so good I cant complain
