About Champagne Charlies

Champagne Charlies was named after a famous Victorian music hall song and it shows one of the first examples of product placement; the composer was paid substantial amounts for including various champagne brands in the song. Situated beneath London's Charing Cross station, Champagne Charlies is styled as a traditional Port & Ale house with candlelit tables and sawdust covered floors. The menu is equally traditional, with dishes including potted shrimps, bangers and mash and kippers served with a lemon and herb risotto. As well as wines, there are real ales available, served in traditional pewter tankards. Three courses of old English fare costs an average of £35 per person.
