About Crusting Pipe Wine Bar

The wonderfully named Crusting Pipe is set in the hustle and bustle of London's Old Covent Garden Market. The Pipe is styled as a traditional wine bar, with candlelit seating outside and a large selection of wines - which brings the restaurant its name; a crusting pipe is the barrel used to make crusted port. However, the food here will not play second fiddle to the drink. The Pipe serves British food such as potted shrimps, charcoal-grilled steaks and good old bangers and mash. Some of the dishes have European influences, such as the pesto lamb brochette, but the desserts are distinctly English - anyone for treacle tart? Three courses will cost an average of £35 per person.
