About The Bistro - Rothesay

On the Isle of Bute to North of Scotland, the restaurant that was The Bistro has changed hands to become The Galley. On entering, it is easy to see why they have changed the name, as the décor makes it reminiscent of being on an ocean liner; the restaurant spreads over two 'decks', using creamy whites, stone flooring on the lower deck and wooden flooring on the upper deck to accentuate the panoramic views of the local Loch. The menu is locally-sourced and inspiringly traditional. Locally caught fish ends up in delectable fish pies, local beef makes it to the steak and ale pie and locally caught langoustines are served simply. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, you can buy dinner for a tenner here; comforting food at comforting prices.
