I have dined at Dinomat on two occasions and each time the staff were friendly and the food was excellent. I have no complaints. yes the drinks are expensive but they are in all restaurants,if you want cheap drinks they go to the pub afterwards!

I took my girlfriend there for a nice meal (i expected it to be a nice meal). the whole dining experience was the worst we have ever come across. from the start, the waitress couldnt tell me what beers they served. she knew they didnt have any draft and after the longest pause she handed us the drinks menu to look ourselves. we then ordered wine to try and keep it simple and a diet coke. 10 mins later, no sign of the coke despite being reminded and we were then told they didnt have the wine we ordered so they brought a different (cheaper)bottle, then charged us for the expensive one anyway! the waitress couldnt use the bottle opener and took so long to open the bottle that we were sure we were in an episode of fawlty towers! she then blamed the opener, cursed it and went to fetch another after she poured the wine, she walked off snapping at us that the coke was coming. when the starters arrived my chicken wings were ok but i made the mistake of pouring one of the dips over the wings. the dip was actually just oil. foul. my girlfriends garlic mushrooms were ok until she found some plastic packaging amongst them. offputting. when the waitress came to take the plates we pointed this out. she asked us what the plastic was - we didnt know - surely she should be asking the chef! she then said she would get someone and walked off. some bloke came over and demanded 'whats the problem?!' we showed him the added plastic and he asked (as if he were doing us a favour)if we would like a new one or take it off the bill. we chose to have it removed from the bill (the v least they could have done) by this time the service was so poor we just wanted to leave. unfortunately we had ordered main courses. these were ok. i had ribs (mediocre and very fatty). my gf had the chicken tortilla. they had taken her knife and fork away and not replaced it. after a while of trying to get someones attention i had to go to another table to get a replacement set. the bill was then over £50!! for a cheap bottle of wine that made us both ill and very poor food. the less said about the poor quality service and alround attitude of the 'staff' made us feel robbed. never again. just dont go there. there is a reason there are lots of tables available. when service and food is so bad you walk out laughing you know not to go back

I took my daughter for lunch to Dinomat for a treat today (2nd July 09). The Restaurant was very quiet. We ordered 2 Diet Cokes, they arrived in very narrow Hiball glasses which were full of ice so the amount of Coke you actually receive is very small, these were charged at an extortionate £1.70 each. One of the starters we had ordered was unavailable so chose an alternative. I had Salmon & Crab Pate with toasts. The crab was tinned & 'toasts' were 3 pieces of fried french bread this was charged at (£5.95). For main course we had chosen a 'Dinomat Platter' for two (£11.95) Everything on this platter apart from the prawns & tinned crab was fried and so oozing in cooking oil we chose not to eat it. When the waitress came over to ask if everything was ok with our meal I did say I wasn't very happy with it to which she replied 'Oh I'm sorry about that!' and walked off. Not wanting to make a fuss we paid & we left. I would not recommend Dinomat.
