This was a busy restaurant. We'd only managed to get a table for 9.30 on a Saturday night and it was packed. We were seated within minutes, and when one of the waiters noticed we were very hot, he offered to move us to a table under the air conditioner. Not only was it cooler, it gave me a great opportunity to look at the chefs cooking the food. I say food, but it's mainly meat. The menu is relatively small, but there's a lot on there. Steaks anyway you want them, varieties of sauces and some traditional argentinian sauces and meats. Recommended are the spicy blood sausages (black pudding that melts in your mouth - be prepared for a large portion), and the fab chimichurri sauce. For our mains, we had steaks with a red wine jus and the Parillada, which is essentially a mixed grill. The portions are huge. We struggled to finish and thoroughly enjoyed the different flavours. The meats were well cooked, the side salads fresh and well dressed, and the overall food excellent. For dessert we had apple and toffee pancakes which were fab, and a rather disappointing tiramisu and cheesecakes which seemed shop bought. Service wise, the staff were friendly and happy to discuss what was on the menu. Towards the end of the night and as we finished our meal, we felt that we were being purposefully avoided so we didn't order dessert. It was quite frustrating to feel ignored, but when we asked for dessert we were served. There's a great vibe in the restaurant, it's small and intimate but not crowded. There's low key south american music and a wonderful aroma of steak. Watching food being cooked was a brill appetiser. Relatively well priced for a city centre restaurant, with good quality meat. comfortable chairs, a youngish crowd and bizarre unisex toilets. Ann enjoyable night.
