Bobs Smithy Inn is a rural country pub with open log fires 2 miles from the centre of Bolton and ideally located close to Rivington and the surrounding area, and being only 2 miles from Reebok Stadium home of Bolton Wanderers its ideal for travelling fans that are welcome.

Bobs Smithy's name came from the black smith who used to have a blacksmith on the opposite corner to the pub and because he was always in the pub it is believed the pub was eventually named after him.the pub dates back to the early 17th century.

Bobs Smithy has a selection of 6 traditional beer lines serving cask ales with products on all the time from Bank Top - Flat Cap and Timothy Taylors - Best Bitter and Tetley Cask, with 3 other guest ales constantly rotating from breweries all over the county. Bobs Smithy has been in the Good Beer Guide for the last 16 years and this year winning Summer Pub of the Season for 2011 by CAMRA.
