Having seen the shortlist for 2015 taste awards we decided to try on a Sunday. The pub a has a lovely feel and nice atmosphere, service was good throughout, although the staff were flat out as it was very busy. I had the black pudding starter which was a highlight and the Beef Sunday roast - fantastic roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. 3 courses for £23 was good value for the quality of dishes. Only negative was the kids dinner, they did half portions of the mains which is good - but for 2 roast potatoes, few peas and 1 1/2 sausages (plus one scoop of ice cream for dessert) I think £10 was a bit pricey. But that was just a minor point, all in all really decent.
