About The Lime Tree

The Lime Tree, situated on leafy Lapwing Lane in West Didsbury, has been at the top of the list for Manchester gourmets for years. Why? The outstanding food, the easy atmosphere, the ever-changing menu and the extensive wine list.

Chef-patron Patrick Hannity and his team of extremely dedicated chefs prepare the award-winning food, which is modern British.

The menu changes weekly but old favourites are never allowed to go away. Many of the dishes reflect the passing seasons and all ingredients are local wherever possible.

The Lime Tree offers top-drawer fine dining without being in the least bit stuffy '– there's an elegant, bohemian feel to the place and in summer you can experience it al fresco on the terrace.

Wine is a major part of the Lime Tree experience and this is reflected in both the wide choice and in the wines which are chosen weekly to complement the changing menu.

You can now book a table between the hours of 1200-1945 on Sundays. There is an a la carte menu available all day and an early evening menu available between 1730-1830.

Great atmosphere, excellent service ...not too over top but attentive. Struggled to find something on menu that I did NOT liike which made it difficult to choose! When the food came you certainly noticed the difference in the quality and chefs abilities. Tasted fantastic. Price was perfect for the quality you get. I save this as my special occasions restaurant and I was reminded why!

Staff very attentive and friendly. House wine was lovely. Starters were very good and we hardly had to wait! We had the salmon fishcakes and scallops. The mains didnt take too long either. We had the Cheshire Lamb and the Duck. The lamb was well cooked, but 50% meat and %0 fat, and considering the menu said leg of lamb, i dont think 4-5 tiny pieces suffice (especially for £17.95). the veg and jus was very good and tasty, however the cottage pie added a very bitter flavour to the overall dish and didn't complement the lamb. The duck was very well cooked and tasty, the dish overall was very good, and well presented. We didn't stay for desert. Overall the evening was nice and there was a pleasant atmosphere.
